Teen Center USA Revamps Teen Idol Competition to a COVID-19 Friendly Virtual Format
January 4, 2021
Teen Center USA is excited to announce it's annual Teen Idol Vocal Competition is going virtual for the first time ever for the 2021 season! We have been hard at work changing the format of the Teen Idol competition after having to cancel the program last year. It is our hope that we can continue to provide the youth in our community with a unique performance opportunity while keeping them in a safe environment. The health and safety of all of our performers, staff, and event guests are extremely important to us, therefore we have decided to host this event virtually. As disappointed as we are in not being able to host the same event as we have the last 16 years, we are excited to reach our community in a new way.
Registration is open from 1/4/2021 until 2/19/2021

DO I HAVE TO USE THE SAME SONGS I AUDITIONED WITH FOR THE SEMI-FINALS AND FINALS?
We recommend that each time you perform; it is a new song choice, though it is not required. This includes the semi-finals and finals.
DOES IT MATTER WHAT I SING?
All lyrics must be approved by the Teen Idol Committee prior to your performance. Lyrics should be kept appropriate and are not to include suggestive language or explicit lyrics. Yes. Teen Idol does not provide music. We do however provide a sound system that you may plug your IPod or CD into, including microphones.

You will be notified at the end of the evening at your audition if you are proceeding to the Semi-Finals. The public may attend auditions for $5 general admission. 5 and under are free. There are always family and friends at the auditions, thought the crowd is usually small, we encourage attendance. Do expect there will be a small audience. This year, since auditions will be virtual, admission this year will be free.
